We have received a shipment of H1N1 injectible vaccine from the Cook County Health Department in conjunction with Children’s Memorial Hospital. These shots are available to all children from 6 months of age through 21 years old. There are no health restrictions associated with this vaccine, i.e., both asthmatics and non-asthmatics may receive this vaccine. Call at your convenience to schedule a vaccine appointment. These injections can be used for first or second doses.

Vaccine Recall
Sanofi-Pasteur recently announced a recall of 4 lots of it’s H1N1 vaccine. This is not a safety issue, rather it was discovered in ongoing stability testing that some of the pre-filled H1N1 syringes experienced a slight decrease in vaccine potency. We have removed those affected lots from our supply. Patients do not need re-vaccination if they did indeed receive a dose from these lots. Click on this link for more information:

H1N1 nasal spray vaccine available!
We have just received a shipment of H1N1 vaccine, in nasal spray form. This vaccine is available for all children two years old and up without asthma or immune deficiencies. If you are unsure if your child can receive this live, nasal spray vaccine, please call and speak with one of our nurses. We will begin accepting appointments for these immunizations at 10:00 am Monday, December 7th.

LCHD schedules new H1N1 clinics
The Lake County Health Department announced today that it has scheduled 5 new H1N1 vaccine clinics for the month of December. Over 10,000 doses of vaccine are available, but you must have an appointment to receive an immunization.
