Staff members from Lake Shore Pediatrics will be at two different Kids’ Health Fairs in the coming weeks. This Saturday May 12, Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital presents the Children’s Health and Safety Fair at it’s Grayslake Campus from 10am-1pm. And the following Saturday, May 19th is the Spring into Health Kids Fair at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington form 10am-2pm. Both Fairs will feature giveaways, helmet safety talks and demos, car seat checks, the Flight for Life Helicopters, and much more!

National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW) is an annual observance to highlight the importance of protecting infants from vaccine-preventable diseases and celebrate the achievements of immunization programs and their partners in promoting healthy communities. Since 1994, NIIW has served as a call to action for parents, caregivers, and healthcare providers to ensure that infants are fully immunized against 14 vaccine-preventable diseases.

We’re seeing lots of kids with the flu, just as this front page Chicago Tribune article states. Click on the link below to read the whole article.  And come get your flu vaccine if you haven’t yet!  Remember, babies need two flu vaccines if this is their first year being immunized.
