As you may have read, a rotavirus vaccine named Rotarix was recentally recalled and further use suspended by the FDA due to discovery of a contaminant virus in the vaccine.  Lake Shore Pediatrics does not and has never used Rotarix.  We administer Rotateq at the 2, 4, and 6 month Health Maintenence visits to prevent rotavirus disease.  Rotateq has been thoroughly tested and does not contain viral contaminants.
